Once Human Isles of Abyss Servers: Schedule, Permanent Server and Transfers

LiveUpdated 2026-10-25 · Game v3.1.1Applies to every region

Short answer: Isles of Abyss runs on its own new servers: four in North America and Europe, two in every other region, with more added as they fill. The PvP version, RaidZone, has one server per region and reopens every two weeks. The permanent server is expected on Nov 18, 2026 (PT), before the first batch closes, so everyone can merge into it. Exactly what carries over for Isles of Abyss hasn’t been announced yet; we’ll update this once the developer confirms.

Server opening schedule by region

For the launch date and the no-reservation rule, see the Isles of Abyss hub. The first batch of servers opened straight after the Oct 21 (PT) update. Each server holds 12 worlds, and more servers open when the existing ones run out of room, so a full list doesn’t mean you’re locked out.

region PvE servers (first batch) server names RaidZone servers
North America, Europe 4 Isles_Abyss-X0001 to X0004 1 (RaidZone_Isles_Abyss-A0001)
South America, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, HK / MO / TW 2 Isles_Abyss-X0001, X0002 1 (RaidZone_Isles_Abyss-A0001)
Console only — — 1 ([Console] RaidZone_Isles_Abyss-A0001)

There is no Vision tag at launch. The Isles of Abyss Vision World comes later with the S5 Vision release, and no date has been given.

How to join Isles of Abyss

There are three official routes.

  1. Create a character, skip the New Player Experience, then go to Scenario Selection → Other Scenarios → Isles of Abyss and pick a server. Your existing character carries on in its own scenario.

  2. Only possible once that character’s current scenario is in its Rest Period. Use Menu → Scenario → Go to Sign Up. Level, supplies and other scenario data are settled and reset. Cosmetics, Blueprint Level and Mod Level are kept.

  3. Agree on a server and pick it under Scenario Selection → More Servers. Or form a sign-up squad (Menu → Scenario → Sign Up Interface): when the leader signs up, the whole squad lands on the same server. If the server is full, a friend can send you their Special Invitation Code (Player Info → Special Invitation Code). On Xbox you can invite from the console friend list; PS5 support is still in development.

Squad rules from the same announcement:

  • Only characters whose sign-up system is enabled can join a squad. Sign-up is enabled in the final phase of a scenario.
  • A character with a permanent-server merge reservation can’t join until that reservation is cancelled.
  • Each character can be in only one squad.
  • If a character already on a permanent server can’t join a squad, leave your Hive and rejoin it. Starry Studio says a fix is in progress.

PvE vs RaidZone servers

Both modes use the same ocean map. To get into RaidZone, switch modes in the top-left corner of the character sign-in page and then pick the server.

Isles of Abyss (PvE) Isles of Abyss: RaidZone (PvP)
servers 4 per region in NA / EU, 2 elsewhere, more as needed 1 per region, plus 1 console-only
worlds 12 per server none: everyone shares one sea
length about 21 days (Phase I 5–10 days, Phase II 11 days), then Rest Period reopens every two weeks
ship destroyed items aboard go to the ship’s vault ship sinks at 0 HP, cargo isn’t returned
saved ship blueprint lets you summon the ship again also raises the ship’s max HP; without one you get the starter ship back
permanent server expected Nov 18, 2026 (PT) not mentioned

Permanent server: when it opens and how you get there

Date: Nov 18, 2026 (PT), per the Oct 21 patch notes and server schedule. The Oct 16 preview said Nov 12. We use the newer date, the same one shown on the hub.

The schedule says only this about it: the permanent server opens before the first batch of servers closes, so that everyone can merge into it. The first batch’s closing date hasn’t been announced yet.

How moving to a permanent server works today

Starry Studio hasn’t posted Isles of Abyss–specific steps yet. Here is how the permanent-server system has worked for earlier scenarios, from two developer posts:

  • Pre-select or get placed. You can pre-select a permanent server on your own or as a Hive (the Hive leader starts it). The spot is held for 14 days; if you don’t log in within that time it’s released. If you don’t pre-select, the merge puts you on the server with the most room left. (Dec 2025 dev blog)
  • Pick one path. Pre-selecting a permanent server and signing up for a new scenario can’t be done at the same time. The Oct 21 schedule confirms the same idea from the other side: a character holding a permanent-server merge reservation can’t join a sign-up squad until it cancels.
  • Same scenario only. You can only pre-select a permanent server of the same scenario type as the one you’re on.

Do progress and items carry over?

Starry Studio hasn’t published the carry-over rules for Isles of Abyss yet. The closest official guide is the September 2026 notice for merging permanent servers into each other. In that merge, character level, supplies and Tech level came across “without loss”, Hive relationships were kept, scenario challenge tasks reset to the new server’s set, and territories kept their spot where possible or were packed up with compensation mailed. Clear your mailbox before a merge so attachments aren’t lost.

Because Isles of Abyss characters start at max level and grow through Tech, the Tech line is the one to watch when the official notes for Nov 18 arrive.

What you can bring from Eternaland

What carries over automatically (official): existing Blueprints and Mods come with you. What gear quality you can craft is capped by your Tech progress, and the number of active mod effects unlocks with Tech level. The Cradle isn’t part of this scenario.

Moving items through Eternaland (creator guide). Heartcarver’s prep video shows the method: in Eternaland, place a foundation and any storage box. That box opens the account-wide storage all your characters share, so an item you put in on one character can be taken out on another.

A character standing on a wooden foundation in Eternaland next to a small storage box, the setup used to reach account-wide storage Screenshot: Heartcarver, “What to ACTUALLY Bring to Isles of the Abyss” on YouTube, at 2:35

What Heartcarver suggests packing, and skipping:

bring skip
chainsaw and electric drill (fast early gathering) high-tier weapons: you can’t use them until Tech catches up
a few Advanced Recycling Tools solar panels: once placed you can’t move them
combat Deviations and territory Deviations (e.g. an H37 for gathering) top-end armor: early progress is mostly at sea, not land fights

He also advises moving only unused items. Players on Steam report that taking items out of Eternaland costs transfer points with a per-season budget; the exact amounts aren’t in the official notes for this scenario. You can earn Astral Sand by selling unwanted items in Eternaland. (Heartcarver TXO2KfhKwro @01:50–03:50 · Steam “New Character?” thread)

Starter items you get regardless

  • Ocean Expansion: Isles of Abyss Bonus Pack (free on Steam, one per account): choose one of seven exclusive Isles of Abyss Morphed Deviations, plus an Ocean Survival Supply Bag (Compact Water Filter, Diving Suit and more) and 2,000 Starchrom.
  • Celebration supply by mail: log in before Nov 8, 2026, 2 PM (PT) for the SOCR - Cosmic Visitor and Snowline Elite Vest blueprints, 10,000 Starchrom, a 30-day Meta Pass Trial Card and three Howler weapon skins.
  • If the Deviation Selection Gift Box gave you the wrong Deviation (H37 or Space Turner variant), the Oct 22 fix notes say the correct one is being mailed out.

What happens when the scenario ends

  1. Phase I runs about 5–10 days (shorter the faster your server purifies), then Phase II runs 11 days and opens the Sunken Lord.
  2. After Phase II the server enters its Rest Period. From here you can sign the character up for another scenario, which settles level and supplies but keeps cosmetics, Blueprint Level and Mod Level.
  3. The permanent server (expected Nov 18 PT) opens before the first batch closes, so a character that stays can merge into it. How that applies to servers opened later in the season hasn’t been announced; we’ll add it once the developer confirms.

RaidZone works differently: it reopens every two weeks, and no permanent RaidZone server has been announced.

FAQ

Are there permanent servers on Once Human?
Yes. Once Human runs permanent servers grouped by scenario and region (Starry Studio merged them into one per scenario and region from September 2026), and scenario servers merge into them when a season wraps up. For Isles of Abyss the permanent server is expected on Nov 18, 2026 (PT), per the Oct 21 patch notes and server schedule. The Oct 16 preview said Nov 12; we use the newer date.
How to move to permanent server once human?
Under the current system you either pre-select a permanent server (alone or with your Hive, and the spot is held for 14 days) or do nothing and get placed on the one with the most room when your scenario server merges. You can’t pre-select while you’re signed up for another scenario. Starry Studio hasn’t posted the exact Isles of Abyss steps yet. We’ll update this once the developer confirms.
Does my Isles of Abyss progress carry over to the permanent server?
Starry Studio hasn’t published the Isles of Abyss rules yet. The closest guide is the September 2026 merge of permanent servers, where level, supplies and Tech came across without loss, while scenario task progress reset and some territories were packed up with compensation mailed. We’ll update this once the developer confirms.
Can I bring items from Eternaland into Isles of Abyss?
Yes, through Eternaland’s shared storage. Your blueprints and mods carry over automatically, but what you can craft and how many mod effects work depend on your Tech level, so high-tier weapons aren’t worth bringing early.
Can I play Isles of Abyss without losing my current character?
Yes. Make a new character and pick Isles of Abyss under Other Scenarios. Your existing character stays where it is. Moving an existing character is only possible once its scenario reaches the Rest Period, and it resets level and supplies.
